1. Authentic language : Language as it is used in a real context is called authentic language like native English newspaper or native English podcasts.

2. Linguistic competence Vs communicate competence
Linguistic competence is a speaker's implicit, internalized knowledge of the rules of their language. (Being able to produce sentences accurately). But communicative is defined as knowing when and how to say what to whom.

3. Communicative approach : is based on the idea that learning language successfully comes through having to communicate real meaning. When learners are involved in real communication, their natural strategies for language acquistion will be used and this will allow them to learn to use the language.

3.1. Two different versions of communicative approach Weak version Vs Strong version
Weak version : stresses the importance of providing learners with opportunities to use English for communicative purposes and therefore attempts to integrate communicative activities to the programme of language teaching.
Strong version : claims that language can be acquired only through communication. Content-based instruction, task-based and participatory approaches belong to this version.

4. Two types of syllabi Synthetic syllabi Vs Analytic syllabi
Synthetic syllabi : includes learning language items one by one in a specific sequence. For example, linguistic units like grammar structures or vocabulary items are ordered in a sequence from linguistic simplicity to linguistic complexity.
Analytic syllabi : stresses working on relevant content texts and the language of the texts. A Task-based syllabus is one example of an analytic syllabus.
What were gathered above are some important parts of our book I found necessary to know since they do not kind of grab readers' attention and also since these information are basic and prerequisite for understanding the whole book.
